Hearth Notes - 2

I’ve been silent over here and more active over on substack where I shared my new motto for the summer/life along with my new advice column Hemmin’ and Hawin’ . In the mean time I thought it would be lovely to share some of the things holding me down this summer via this little series I call Hearth notes.

I’ve been listening to OnBeing again. I discovered this podcast several years ago and it is a continued source of comfort fo me.

The Tao of Motherhood - a special book full of taoist wisdoms that ground me

I’m wearing a fitbit again, for the little reminder to keep that ass movin and groovin

Rose, bud, thorn . Im not sure where I picked this up but whenever we sit down to share a meal together, everyone in our family shares something that blooming in their life, something they are looking forward to, and something difficult they are dealing with.

Hydrating by form of keeping my waters, teas, and beverages nutrient rich with things like salt, electrolytes, bitters, vinegars, shrubs, fruits, infusions etc etc.

Somehow along the way I became a matcha girly. Ive always wanted to get into green tea for health reasons, but the astringent taste has always been too much for me. Matcha lattes made at home with all my favorite add ins like a sprinkle of cinnamon on top have been doing it for me. Store-bought could never. I’ve made in into a little ritual for Tony and I, and we loved it so much we eventually got some accoutrements so I could decorate and make it all special for us.

What is holding you down this summer?

Peace,

Farai
